Scripts

Why not check out the GIMP registry for more scripts? The registry can be found here. Make sure you get a script compatible with your version of the GIMP.

Tools

If you've got GIMP version 2.3.5 and you find a script you think might be really cool but it's for a previous version, try the script update tool in our tools section.

The Goal

gm-solarize applies a solarization effect to the image. It registers the effect in the following menu:

  • Filters/Solarize

The solarize effect is the same as in the gm-invert script, however, this script give the user flexability to adjust some parameters. There are two parameters the user can adjust in this script; intensity, and threshold. The default values of 100 intensity and 255 threshold give the same results as for the solarize effect in gm-invert.

The solarization uses the traditional digital imaging technique. The threshold determines the pixel value above which solarization will be applied. The intensity controls the degree of darkness/solarization to be applied.
